John Wheatley visits Lets Talk About Youth in Bristol, UK.
Bristol Charities team meets with John Wheatley and youth workers Phav and Sharmir

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Bristol youth workers Phav and Sharmir, alongside their tutor John Wheatley from City of Bristol College, for an inspiring conversation about youth work across the city.

Together, we explored what’s working well, the challenges facing young people today, and what an ideal youth work model for Bristol could look like. Their insight, passion and lived experience offered invaluable perspectives as we continue shaping the future of youth support in our city.

“Listening directly to young people and frontline youth workers is essential if we want to build services that truly reflect the needs and ambitions of Bristol’s communities. Collaboration like this helps ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive.” Rachel Jewell

“At Bristol Charities, we know that young people must be at the centre of shaping the services designed to support them. These conversations are helping inform our own plans to develop a long-term youth strategy that responds to the realities young people face and creates meaningful opportunities for their future.” Charlie Ferdinando

A huge thank you to Phav, Sharmir and John for sharing their experiences and ideas with us.
