Bristol Charities is delighted to announce its membership of the Bristol24/7 Better Business network.
Bristol Charities is one of the city’s oldest independent charitable organisations, with a long-standing commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities across Bristol.
Rooted in the city and proud of its Bristolian heritage, Bristol Charities exists to create a fairer, more inclusive city where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
It does this by investing in people and places, supporting individuals facing disadvantage, and working in partnership with local organisations to deliver long-term, sustainable impact.
The charity owns and manages a diverse portfolio of residential and community assets, including housing, care settings and community spaces, using income generated to fund charitable activity across the city.
It is the proud custodian of The Vassall Centre – a flagship, barrier-free workspace for the VCSE sector, welcoming over 30,000 people a year through its doors.
Through grant-making, service delivery and strategic partnerships, Bristol Charities supports initiatives that tackle inequity, improve wellbeing and build stronger communities.
Collaboration sits at the heart of Bristol Charities’ approach. The organisation works closely with charities, businesses, public sector partners and community groups, recognising that lasting change happens when organisations come together around shared goals.

Julian Mines, chief executive of Bristol Charities, said: “As a member of the Better Business Club, Bristol Charities is proud to stand alongside like-minded organisations that believe business and social impact go hand in hand.
“ The charity is committed to using its voice, influence and resources to support independent media, champion social value, and contribute to conversations about Bristol’s future.”
Above all, Bristol Charities is driven by a belief that Bristol can, and should be, a city that works for everyone.
