Walking and Cycling Routes

We are a 5-minute cycle from the Bristol to Bath cycle path and a 5-minute walk (or 1 minute cycle) from Oldbury Court Estate. Footpaths from the estate connect you to the Frome Valley and Snuff Mills walking routes and across the valley to Stapleton and Frenchay.

We have a number of bike racks available at the front of the building, and in the car park, for cyclists.

Bus Services

We are well-served by local buses.

Direct Bus Service

Buses 47 (Bristol City Centre – Oldbury Court, via Stapleton Road) and 47X (Bristol City Centre – Oldbury Court, express service via M32) stop directly outside our front gates.

Fishponds Road Bus Services

The following buses stop on Fishponds Road. Alight at The Cross Hands stop and walk ten minutes to The Vassall Centre:

  • 48 (Bristol City Centre – Emersons Green, via Stapleton Road and Downend)
  • 49 (Bristol City Centre – Emersons Green, via Stapleton Road and Staple Hill)
  • 48X (Bristol City Centre – Emersons Green, express service via M32 and Downend)
  • 49X (Bristol City Centre – Emersons Green, express service via M32 and Staple Hill)

Bus 25 (Bristol City Centre – Fishponds, via St Werburghs & Eastgate Centre) stops just off Fishponds Road on Straits Parade. Alight at Straits Parade and walk 10 minutes to the Vassall Centre.

Blackberry Hill Bus Services

The following buses stop on Blackberry Hill. Alight at the Fishponds/College Road stop and walk ten minutes to The Vassall Centre:

  • 46 (Stoke Park – Bristol City Centre – UWE Frenchay Campus, via Stapleton Road and Snuff Mills)
  • 46X (Stoke Park – Bristol City Centre – UWE Frenchay Campus. Express service via M32 and Snuff Mills)
