🚀 We’re proud to share an exciting step forward for Bristol.
Props is joining the Bristol Charities group, bringing together two organisations with a shared ambition:
👉 creating more meaningful employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.
💡 This matters.
In the UK, only around 5% of adults with learning disabilities are in paid employment, despite many wanting to work. Too often, people face systemic barriers that limit opportunity and confidence.
Together, we’re building on over 25 years of Props’ incredible work to:
🤝 Strengthen training and skills development
🏢 Connect more people with local employers
🌱 Create sustainable, confidence-building pathways into work
🗣️ Becky King, Director at Props, said:
“Joining the Bristol Charities group marks an exciting new chapter for Props. It strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality support while connecting us to a wider network committed to social impact. Together, we can create more opportunities for people with learning disabilities to thrive.”
❤️ The impact of Props’ work is transformative and long-lasting.
Chloe works in the Vassall Centre Café, run by Props. When she first started, she was hesitant and needed support with day-to-day tasks. Today?
👏 She prepares food independently
👏 Serves customers with confidence
👏 Runs the till and supports her team
“I have met some really nice people and love working with each and every one of them. I am so happy!”
Stories like Chloe’s show what’s possible when the right support is in place.
🗣️ As our CEO Julian Mines puts it:
“Props is the beating heart of the Vassall Centre, creating a vibrant, inclusive community that reflects the very best of what we stand for. This partnership allows us to build on that strength and extend its impact even further.”
✨ This is about unlocking potential
✨ Building confidence
✨ And creating a more inclusive Bristol
We’re just getting started.
